Government Product recall for counterfeit anti-choking devices

In addition to releasing an urgent public DSI (Device Safety Information) a few months ago, the UK Government body MHRA (Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency), have now issued an urgent product recall for all counterfeit anti choking devices sold via Amazon, eBay, AliExpress, Alibaba, Fruugo, OnBuy, Facebook Marketplace and DesertCart.

This product recall is due to the high risk of not working, and could worsen the situation by further pushing obstructions down the airway passage due to their poor design and quality which will be fatal in a life or death situation.

These dangerous, illegal, unregulated Chinese counterfeit devices do not meet any strict safety standards set out by regulatory bodies, nor are they CE registered, or regulated by any countries medical device regulatory authority.

Sadly we are contacted on a weekly basis from innocent members of the general public who had thought they purchased our regulated life-saving LifeVac® medical device, only to discover in the time of need, in a life or death situation that the device they attempted to use creates no suction, does not generate the suction required to dislodge an airway obstruction, had pushed the obstruction further down, or their device had broken.

Upon investigation following our strict processes and quality procedures, we immediately identified that they had unfortunately purchased/obtained a dangerous, illegal, unregulated Chinese counterfeit device.
